Julio Perez. My uncle. My godfather. I write this with tears coming down my face. Tears of both sadness and happiness. Sadness because it hurts knowing we can never have you with us again physically to continue sharing life's beautiful moments and happiness because I know you are pain and worry-free peacefully resting with the rest of our ancestors watching us from above. Words can not explain the outlook on life you gave us all. You were the definition of what it means to be courageous and truly the embodiment of the word perseverance. Because of you, from a young age, I knew the true value of those words and value so many other things that the average person takes for granted. I'm sure anyone who knew you would agree that although you were stripped of the ability to see, you had more vision than anyone with perfect eyesight can ever fathom.
